An encounter can be defined as “some unexpected experience”. In life, when we come to Jesus, we usually have a lot of our own expectations. But He has His own plan and it’s often different from ours…and always better. We might expect Him to give us answers on a question we have, and instead He just gives more of Himself. We might expect Him to guide us to a specific route He wants us to take in our life, but instead He reminds us to just seek Him first and everything else will follow. We might expect Him to take certain sorrows or troubles out of our life, but He instead just tells us to trust Him and wait patiently. We might expect Him to teach us one thing, but He teaches us another instead. Whatever it is, Jesus likes to surprise us and remind us He’s got it under control. So when we come to Him, we should come expecting an encounter!
What is expected of me?
The expectation from you is an open mind and an open heart to what Jesus wants to do in you at your Encounter. Think about the time in your life before you knew Jesus, or maybe after you knew Jesus, you were wandering or struggling. During those times, did Jesus reveal something to you that you didn’t even know you needed? Be open for Jesus to address questions you didn’t know
you had or answers you didn’t know you needed.
How should I prepare?
Pray early, pray often.
Pray that God opens your heart to his gift in this Encounter.
Pray for safety and peace throughout.
Encountering Jesus, especially in the midst of other women who are doing the same, was a precious experience. I hear the word "movement" used sometimes, but I truly think this is a "move" of God and is touching the women in our region like wildfire! It has kept me involved and accountable to many women who love the Lord, which is so fulfilling and strengthening for me. And sharing it with others is just over the top! Can't wait for the next one!
My personal encounter with God magnified a more intimate relationship with Him by the power of the Holy Spirit. Experiencing true freedom from people pleasing, areas of control in my life, to GOD pleasing and GOD in control in ALL areas. Sanctification is a process, yet the the heart-surgery at encounter was much needed to draw me even deeper in my walk with the Lord. There was also nothing more fulfilling than serving others.
Women's Encounter is unlike ANY retreat or fellowship time you have ever attended. I came hungry and seeking intimacy with the Lord and He overwhelmed me with His love and peace.
Encounter is full of tears of pain followed by tears of joy and peace as God worked in and through me to release me from my sins by His grace, mercy, and love. All this allows me to be open and honest with God and why not, He already knows all my sins and failure and loves me despite them.
Women's encounter not only built up my confidence and self worth but also helped me create true friendships with like-minded women!
